Father’s Day Biscuits
Father’s Day is the ultimate chance to give a big shout out to all the awesome dads out there, and what better way to do it than with a batch of homemade goodies? Whip up some scrumptious Father’s Day cookies that will make him grin from ear to ear. These cookies aren’t just yummy treats, they’re a sweet way to express your love and appreciation.
Here’s What You’ll Need
125g cold unsalted butter (cubed)
125g caster sugar
250g plain flour
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Blue sugarpaste/ white sugarpaste and blue Cake Décor colour gel
Cake Décor Edible glue
Cake Décor Cake pen
Here's What You'll Do:
- Beat together butter and sugar until creamed.
- Add in egg and vanilla and beat again, your mixture might look odd, but it will come together with the flour.
- Add in flour and mix until a dough is formed.
- Turn out onto a floured surface and knead the dough into a ball and then cover with film and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Once chilled, roll dough out on floured surface, using a small round cutter to cut out your biscuit shapes.
- Place your shapes on prepared baking trays and place in the fridge to chill again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 190ºC/180 ºC
- Bake biscuits for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Leave to cool slightly on tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.
- Once fully cool your biscuits are ready to decorate.
Decorate:
- Colour sugarpaste/ roll your blue sugarpaste and using the round shaped cutter, cut out sugarpaste to stick onto each biscuit with Edible Glue.
- Repeat when all biscuits are covered, leave for a few hours to allow the sugarpaste to harden.
- Once sugarpaste has dried and hardened you can decorate with Cake Pens to create bubble writing biscuits reading Dad, colouring in each letter as creatively as you can.
(Top tip … to finish off the letter outline with a black pen to help the colours pop.)
