Bunny Rice Krispie Cake

Here’s What You’ll Need
100g Rice Krispies
20g Unsalted butter
150g Cake Décor mini marshmallows
Additional marshmallows for decoration
Cake Décor Writing Icing
Cake Décor Edible eyes
*Tool needed: egg shaped cookie cutter.
Here's What You'll Do:
- Prepare a flat baking tray with greaseproof paper. (It can help to level your krispie cakes if your tray has small sides to push against).
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over a low heat.
- Add in marshmallows and stir continuously until melted.
- Remove from heat
- Add Rice Krispies and continue to stir until Krispies are well coated.
Or
- Place Rice Krispies in a microwave safe bowl and top with marshmallows. Microwave in 30 second intervals until marshmallows are melted. Stir until Krispies are well coated.
- Leave mixture to cool for a few minutes then spoon on the prepared tray. Firmly push the mixture down until it squashes and spreads out. It helps to hold shape if you squash the mixture together as firmly as possible. Continue until the mixture is flat and is the thickness you would prefer, ideally the mixture should be slightly thinner than the depth of your egg shaped cookie cutter, this will make cutting out the egg shapes easier.
- Leave the shaped trees in the fridge while cleaning up to help them set.
- After c. 20 minutes remove from fridge and start cutting out shapes with the egg shaped cookie cutter. Cut the shapes as close together as possible to reduce wastage.
Decorate:
- To decorate each bunny you will need one krispie egg shape, one pink mini marshmallow, one white mini marshmallow, two edible eyes and a pink writing icing tube.
- Begin by placing the eyes onto the narrowest end of the egg shaped bunny (you can use a little Edible glue or a spot of writing icing to stick these on if your krispie cake is not sticky enough to secure the eyes). Make sure you leave enough space for your nose.
- Cut the pink marshmallow diagonally to form the triangular bunny ears, place these above the eyes.
- Cut the white marshmallow in half to form a tail, place on the bunny. (top tip, cutting the marshmallow in half length or widthways can change the shape of your bunny tail so all of your bunnies can be unique)
- Finally use a pink writing icing tube to pipe a nose onto your bunny. This can look cute as a heart shape but could be made easier if piped on as a dot.
