Sheep Biscuits

Get ready to “shear” joy with these adorable Easter Sheep biscuits that are as fun to make as they are to eat! These fluffy treats will have your taste buds “flocking” for more. These sheep-shaped delights are perfect for celebrating the holiday season in a tasty and creative way.

Here’s What You’ll Need

125g cold unsalted butter (cubed)

125g caster sugar

225g plain flour

25g cocoa powder

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

White chocolate spread

Milk chocolate spread

Cake Décor Edible eyes

Cake Décor Writing icing

(The method to make both chocolate and vanilla biscuits is the same, up to the point of adding flour.)

Here's What You'll Do:
  1. Beat together butter and sugar until creamed.
  2. Add in egg and vanilla and beat again, your mixture might look odd but it will come together with the flour.
  3. Add in flour and mix until a dough is formed. (When making the chocolate biscuit, this is the point the flour and cocoa powder is added.
  4. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead the dough into a ball and then cover with film and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
  5. Once chilled, roll dough out on floured surface, using a large round cutter to cut out your biscuit shapes with the scalloped edge of the cutter. On half of your shapes, use a small circular cutter to cut out a hole for the sheep face. (top tip, you can use the round end of a piping nozzle to do this if you do not have a cutter small enough.)
  6. Place your shapes on prepared baking trays and place in the fridge to chill again for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 190ºC/180 ºC
  8. Bake biscuits for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Leave to cool slightly on tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.
  10. Once fully cool your biscuits are ready to decorate.
  1. Take one full circular biscuit and one with a cutout.
  2. Spread chocolate spread onto the full biscuit and top with the cutout biscuit.
  3. Place two edible eyes on the sheep face.
  4. Using writing icing give the sheep a nose, ears, hooves and hair and finish off with some swirl shapes as wool in another colour.
