Looking for a fun and delicious way to celebrate Easter? Look no further than these egg-cellent Easter Chick biscuits! These treats are sure to bring a smile to your face, with their cute and colourful designs and sweet, buttery flavour.

Here’s What You’ll Need

125g cold unsalted butter (cubed)

125g caster sugar

250g plain flour

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

Royal icing, mixed to pack instructions

Cake Décor Yellow colour gel

Cake Décor Writing Icing

Cake Décor Edible Eyes

Here's What You'll Do:
  1. Beat together butter and sugar until creamed.
  2. Add in egg and vanilla and beat again, your mixture might look odd but it will come together with the flour.
  3. Add in flour and mix until a dough is formed.
  4. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead the dough into a ball and then cover with film and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
  5. Once chilled, roll dough out on floured surface, using an egg shaped cutters to cut out your biscuit shapes.
  6. Place your shapes on prepared baking trays and place in the fridge to chill again for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 190ºC/180 ºC
  8. Bake biscuits for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Leave to cool slightly on tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.
Decorate:
  1. Once fully cool your biscuits are ready to decorate.
  2. Prepare royal icing, adding in yellow colour gel to achieve the colour you would like for your chicks.
  3. Spoon a little icing on each biscuit, remember the icing will spread so just add a little at a time.
  4. Once each biscuit has been covered, gently add two Edible Eyes to each chick.
  5. Finish off your chick biscuits by using an orange writing icing tube to add a triangular beak and two claws to each chick biscuit.
