Love Heart Biscuits
Treat your valentine with these delicious Loveheart biscuits! Grab some of our amazing writing icings and create biscuits that tell your sweet-heart exactly what you think of them!
Here’s What You’ll Need
125g cold unsalted butter (cubed)
125g caster sugar
250g plain flour
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
White sugarpaste
Colour gels to create assorted colours of sugarpaste
Edible glue
Writing Icing
Here's What You'll Do:
- Beat together butter and sugar until creamed.
- Add in egg and vanilla and beat again, your mixture might look odd, but it will come together with the flour.
- Add in flour and mix until a dough is formed.
- Turn out onto a floured surface and knead the dough into a ball and then cover with film and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Once chilled, roll dough out on floured surface, then using a heart shaped cutter cut out your biscuit shapes.
- Place your heart shapes on a prepared baking tray and place in the fridge to chill again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 190ºC/180 ºC
- Bake biscuits for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Leave to cool slightly on tray before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.
Decorate:
- Once fully cool your biscuits are ready to decorate.
- Colour your sugarpaste so you have a pastel green, yellow, green, pink and blue to use, similar to the colours of loveheart sweeties.
- Roll out the sugarpaste and cut shapes using your heart shaped cutter. Stick the sugarpaste hearts to the biscuits using Edible Glue. Repeat until you have a variety of colours of sugarpaste stuck to all biscuits.
- Using a red writing icing tube, outline each biscuit with a red border and write a love heart message on each … love you, cutie, miss you, first love etc.
- Repeat until all biscuits are decorated.
