2024 Cupcakes
What says new year more than some 2024 cupcakes! IF you want something to serve at your New Years Eve party which the kids can get involved in too this is the recipe for you!
Here’s What You’ll Need
150g unsalted butter or baking spread
150g caster sugar
150g self-raising flour
3 medium eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
Buttercream
250g softened butter
500g icing sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
Cake Décor Coloured Writing Icing
Cake Décor Colour gel
Cake Décor Sprinkles
Here's What You'll Do:
- Preheat oven to 170ºC/160 ºC and line a 12-hole cupcake tray with cupcake cases.
- Cream together the unsalted butter/ baking spread and caster sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add in eggs, self-raising flour and vanilla extract and beat.
- Scoop the mixture evenly into the cupcake cases and bake in the oven for c. 20 minutes or until cooked through. (Springy to touch or a skewer comes out clean.)
Decorate:
- While allowing cupcakes to cool prepare the buttercream.
- Beat together softened unsalted butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and your chosen colour gel and beat again.
- Once cupcakes are cool, ice your cupcakes, making sure you have a flat top and spread the buttercream down to the top of the cupcake case.
- Add your sprinkles to a bowl and carefully hold each cupcake by the case and press the edges of the buttercream into the sprinkles. This will stick sprinkles to the sides of your cupcakes, leaving you a blank circle on top the cupcake blank. In this blank circle, use a writing icing tube to write 2024.
