Snowflake Cupcakes

Create some fun and festive cupcake this Christmas holiday. These easy but effective cupcake will have your family and friends feeling merry and bright!

Snowflake Cupcakes
Here’s What You’ll Need

150g unsalted butter or baking spread

150g caster sugar

150g self-raising flour

3 medium eggs

½ tsp vanilla extract

Buttercream

250g softened unsalted butter

500g icing sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Cake Décor Blue colour gel

Here's What You'll Do:
  1. Preheat oven to 170ºC/160 ºC and line a 12-hole cupcake tray with cupcake cases.
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter/ baking spread and caster sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in eggs, self-raising flour and vanilla extract and beat.
  4. Scoop the mixture evenly into the cupcake cases and bake in the oven for c. 20 minutes or until cooked through. (Springy to touch or a skewer comes out clean.)
  5. Allow cupcakes to cool fully on a wire rack before decorating.
Decorate:
  1. While allowing cupcake to cool, mix up the blue buttercream.
  2. Beat softened unsalted butter and icing sugar well until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in vanilla extract and blue colour gel and beat until colour is even.
  4. Prepare a piping bag with a star shaped nozzle and add the prepared blue buttercream.
  5. Swirl the buttercream onto each cooled cupcake and top with one of our Christmas Snowflakes.
