Bronuts (Brownie Doughnuts)

If you haven’t already tried a bronut then you’re missing out 🍩 What’s even better is that you can bring yours to life using Edible Eyes, and add a delicious finishing touch with a bag of our scrummy Honeycomb Pieces 👀

Here’s What You’ll Need (Makes 12)

Here’s a cheeky tip: Instead of purchasing all the brownie doughnut ingredients, you can skip straight to the fun part by buying a pack of your favourite ready-made plain doughnuts or a pack of brownie mix from your local supermarket!

For the brownie doughnuts:

  • Brownie Baking Tray
  • 200g Dark Chocolate
  • 200g Unsalted Butter
  • 4 Medium Eggs
  • 275g Light Brown Sugar
  • 100g Plain Flour
  • 50 g Cocoa Powder
  • 200g Milk Chocolate Chips

Here's What You'll Do:

Bake Your Brownie Doughnuts:
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted ovens)/Gas Mark 4. Grease your doughnut tray and set it aside.
  2. Break your Dark Chocolate into small pieces and place it in a medium size, microwave safe bowl. Add in your Butter and microwave both ingredients together in 30 second intervals, mixing the ingredients in-between until smooth. Once melted, set the mixture aside for 10 minutes to cool. 
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add in your Eggs and Brown Sugar and whisk together for a few minutes until the mixture doubles in size and gives a mousse like consistency. Once done, pour in your Plain Flour and Cocoa Powder and fold the ingredients together.
  4. Take your prepped doughnut tray and spoon in the mixture in the tray (Do this part twice if your doughnut tray only fits 6 doughnuts). 
  5. Place in the oven and bake at 16-18 minutes. When finished, remove from the oven and leave to completely cool.
Decorate:
  1. Once your Bronuts have cooled, it’s time to decorate! Take your Chocolate Sauce and cover half of each of your Bronuts – the sauce will gives us a sticky canvas to add your toppings. For some, sprinkle your chocolate sprinkles over the chocolate sauce and add a pair of Edible Eyes so bring your Bronuts to life! Use your White Choco Writer (prepped as per instructions) to add in some contrast detail to your Bronuts. Lastly, sprinkle your Honeycomb Pieces to add some delicious crunch and you’re finished!
