Here's What You'll Need For 8 Cupcakes:

Here’s a cheeky tip: Instead of purchasing all the cupcake ingredients, you can skip straight to the fun part by buying a pack of your favourite ready-made cupcakes, or a pack of cupcake mix from your local supermarket!

For the vanilla cupcakes:

  • 125g caster sugar
  • 125g butter or margarine, softened
  • 125g self-raising flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1tsp vanilla extract

For decorating:

  • 600g Cake Décor Christmas Green Frosting (Alternatively, you can use regular Vanilla Frosting and colour it green using Cake Décor Green Colour Gel)
  • Cake Décor Christmas Sprinkles – we used both Blue and Red sprinkles mixes.

Here's What You'll Do:

Bake Your Cupcakes:
  1. Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract. Sift in the flour, add the eggs and beat everything together until you achieve a smooth mixture.
  2. Pop your cupcake cases into a cupcake tray. Using a large tablespoon, fill each cupcake case half full with your delicious mixture.
  3. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes (You’ll know they’re baked when you insert a wooden skewer in the cupcake and it comes out clean). When finished, remove from the oven and leave to completely cool.
  1. If you’re making your own green frosting: In a medium size bowl, combine your Vanilla Frosting with your Green Colour Gel and mix well until the colour is fully mixed with the frosting and it’s now vibrant blue (Pro Tip: if you feel that the colour is not as vibrant as you would like, add a touch more of your blue colour gel!).
  2. Using a smooth knife or a spoon, spoon a little bit of the green frosting on each of your cupcakes and smooth it out. Take your Blue Christmas Sprinkles and cover the frosted cupcake entirely with the hundreds and thousands sprinkles.
  3. Transfer the rest of your your green frosting in a piping bag with a piping nozzle attached. Take your cupcakes and pipe the blue frosting on top of each of your cupcakes on top of the sprinkles.
  4. Finally, take your other Christmas Sprinkles and sprinkle over each of the cupcake’s frosting any way you like (Pro Tip: for the larger sprinkles, you can take them out and beautifully place them on top whatever way you like).
