Have a beary Christmas turning your cupcakes into these these un-bear-evably cute Polar Bear Cupcakes! Simply use some Edible Snow to create the polar bear’s fluffy fur, add a pair of Edible Eyes and finish off with a Choco Writer nose. Follow this guide below to learn how!

Here's What You'll Need To Make 8:

Here’s a cheeky tip: Instead of purchasing all the cupcake ingredients, you can skip straight to the fun part by buying a pack of your favourite ready-made cupcakes, or a pack of cupcake mix from your local supermarket!

For the vanilla cupcakes:

  • 12 Cupcake Cases
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 125g butter or margarine, softened
  • 125g self-raising flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1tsp vanilla extract

For decorating:

  • 400g regular Vanilla Frosting
  • Cake Décor Edible Snow
  • Pack of White Ready-to-Roll Fondant Icing
  • Cake Décor Edible Eyes
  • Cake Décor Milk Choco Writer

Here's What You'll Do:

Bake Your Cupcakes:
  1. Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract. Sift in the flour, add the eggs and beat everything together until you achieve a smooth mixture.
  2. Pop your cupcake cases into a cupcake tray. Using a large tablespoon, fill each cupcake case half full with your delicious mixture.
  3. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes (You’ll know they’re baked when you insert a wooden skewer in the cupcake and it comes out clean). When finished, remove from the oven and leave to completely cool.
Decorate:
  1. First, let’s make your polar bear’s nose. On a baking sheet, squeeze a small, about 2cm, oval shape using your Milk Choco Writer. Make one for each of your cupcakes and bring it to a side to harden. While your nose’s are hardening, take your frosting and, using a smooth butter knife or spoon, smoothly frost each of your cupcakes.
  2. Roll our your White Fondant Icing to about 3-5mm thick. Using a round cookie cutter about the size of your cupcakes, cut out 8 circles from your Fondant Icing. With the rest of your Fondant Icing, use your hands to roll our  8 oval shapes that are slightly bigger than your polar bear’s nose.
  3. Take your fondant circles and top each of your cupcakes. Use your hands to gently squeeze the top sides to create the polar bear’s ears. Pop your oval noses on top of each of the applied fondant circles slightly towards the bottom part of the polar bear’s face.
  4. Take a small bowl of water and, using either a baking brush or just your fingers, gently brush each of the polar bear cupcake faces to make them slightly wet. Now, take your Edible Snow and generously sprinkle it over the polar bears face to create it’s fur (the water will make them stick).
  5. Finally, take your Edible Eyes and apply a pair just above the oval nose. To finish off, put the Milk Choco nose to finish off your polar bear cupcakes!
