Chocolate and Ice Cream Mug Cake

Fancy a quick dessert to treat yourself and loved ones? Treat yourself to this fast and easy Chocolate Sponge and Ice Cream Mug Cake! It’s so easy – simply pop all your ingredients in a microwave-safe mug and serve it with delicious vanilla ice cream and your favourite chocolate toppings.

Here's What You'll Need For 1:

For the Cake:

4tbsp Self Raising Flour

4tbsp Caster Sugar or Light Brown Sugar

2tbsp Cocoa Powder

1 Egg

3tbsp Milk

3tbsp Vegetable Oil

For Decorating:

Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream

Here's What You'll Do:

Make your Cake:
  1. In a large microwave-safe mug, add the flour, sugar and cocoa powder and mix well. Add in the egg, milk and vegetable oil and mix until the mixture is smooth. 
  2. Put your mug with cake mixture in your microwave and microwave it for 2 minutes (900W). Once done, leave on the side to cool.
Let’s decorate:
  1. While your cake is cooling, place your Choco Writers in a mug with hot water to melt following its instructions. 
  2. Once your Choco Writers have melted and the mug cake has cooled, take your Vanilla Ice Cream and place a scoop of it on top of the mug cake. Finally, take your Choco Writers and drizzle a generous amount over the ice cream and enjoy!
